Klarity ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Klarity calendar management application available at klaritycal.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by your authentication provider (Google, Microsoft, or Apple sign-in).
Calendar Data
With your explicit permission, we access your calendar events from connected services:
- Google Calendar — We request
calendar.eventsandcalendar.readonlyscopes to read and create events on your behalf. - Microsoft Outlook — We request
Calendars.ReadWriteto read and create events. - Apple Calendar — We access your CalDAV calendar data using credentials you provide.
- Notion — We access Notion databases you explicitly authorize for calendar sync.
We only access calendar data necessary to provide the Service. We do not access your email, contacts, files, or any data outside the calendar scopes listed above.
Location Data
When you verify event locations, we store the location name and coordinates in our database so we can calculate travel times and provide location-based features. Location data is associated with your account and is not shared with other users.
Uploaded Content
You may upload images, PDFs, or CSV files containing calendar information (e.g., school flyers, sports schedules). These files are processed to extract event data and are stored temporarily during processing. Extracted event data is stored in your account.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank account number, or other financial account details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
Usage Data
We collect standard usage data such as device type, browser type, pages visited, and interaction patterns to improve the Service.

Specifically:
- We only request access to the Google Calendar scopes necessary to provide our Service (
calendar.eventsandcalendar.readonly). - We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising or to serve ads.
- We do not sell Google Calendar data to third parties.
- We do not use Google Calendar data for purposes unrelated to providing and improving the Service.
- Human access to Google Calendar data is limited to debugging and support purposes, with your consent, or as required by law.
4. Third-Party Services

- Anthropic (Claude AI) — Powers natural language event extraction, calendar Q&A, and AI assistant features. Calendar event data may be sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use this data to train models.
- OpenAI — Powers text-to-speech for voice responses. Text content is sent to OpenAI's API for audio generation.

- Resend — Transactional email delivery.

Each third-party service processes your data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. OAuth tokens for connected calendar services are encrypted before storage. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication, and role-based access controls.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile data, calendar cache, verified locations, and uploaded files. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 30 days after deletion.
You can disconnect any calendar integration at any time from the Settings page, which revokes our access and removes stored tokens for that service.
To request complete deletion of your data, contact us at support@klaritycal.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Klarity is designed for parents and guardians to manage family calendars. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Calendar events involving children (e.g., school events, sports schedules) are managed by the parent or guardian account holder.
